2024: Synonym of Expansion and Growth
It has been an extraordinary year, and once again, we want to express our sincerest gratitude to all our customers for trusting Cirion as their reliable technological partner. In a challenging context, full of changes and great opportunities, their support has been key to driving and consolidating our growth.
Before closing this chapter, we’d like to share some highlights that made 2024 an unforgettable year. With investments exceeding USD 300 million, 30% more than the previous year, we have significantly expanded our infrastructure, increased our capacity and taken our coverage to unprecedented levels, all with the aim of continuing to offer exceptional solutions that empower our customers’ businesses.
Among our most important achievements, we can mention the significant progress in the construction of the new Data Centers in Chile (SAN2) and Peru (LIM2), as well as the expansion of key facilities in São Paulo (SAO1), Rio de Janeiro (RIO1) and Buenos Aires (BUE1). At the same time, we acquired a new site of more than 15,000 m² in Rio de Janeiro, where we will build a carrier-neutral Data Center of more than 60 MW (RIO2), which will consolidate our commitment to innovation and cutting-edge infrastructure.
In addition, we extended our fiber network in Mexico and marked a new milestone with the announcement of the South American Crossing-2 (SAC-2) submarine cable route, a project that will connect North and South America with ultra-low latency. This system, which will be operational in 2025, will complement our existing infrastructure and strengthen our capacity to offer advanced connectivity solutions in the region. Furthermore, we established new strategic alliances with global leaders such as Qwilt, Tata Communications, and Radware, which has allowed us to expand our service offering and ensure the excellence our customers expect.
No less important, we concluded this 2024 by publishing our Second Sustainability Report. Among the most relevant points, it is worth highlighting the 17% reduction in our carbon footprint and the increase in the use of renewable energy from 40% to 62% compared to the previous year. These achievements, among many others, underscore our long-term vision to drive sustainable growth while meeting the evolving needs of our customers.
The impact of these advances did not go unnoticed. At the recent DCD Latam Awards 2024, our new Data Center “SAN2” was recognized as “Data Center Construction Team of the Year” and Frost & Sullivan awarded us the 2024 Award for “Latin American Company of the Year in Business Services“; Google distinguished us as “Gold Verified Peering Provider (VPP)” and MEF awarded us the “SD-WAN Managed Service Provider of the Year – Latin America” and “SASE Managed Service Provider of the Year – Latin America” awards. We also reached #7 position on Vertical Systems Group’s Global Ethernet Service Provider LEADERBOARD, being the only Latin American company to receive this recognition. And in Brazil, we received the Highlight of the Year awards from Anuário Telecom and Anuário Informática Hoje for our Data Center Services and Managed Services, respectively.
